I believe that Impulse is the devil.
There are some situations might encounter in daily life. Such as accidentally heard colleagues talking something bad about you in the bathroom, the neighbors’ loud stereo reaching to the point of unbearable at late night, or deal with unreasonable customers. At this moment, people easily get infuriated and become impulsive; most time could cause irreparable consequences. There are so many tragedy stories happened in the history.
I was always fascinating about fables; the stories are simple but the implications of philosophy become a precaution in my life. The fable goes: a farmer went hunting, and left his dog to care for a baby at home, when the farmer came back, he saw a bloody blanket on the floor but baby was not in there. His dog was linking blood on her paws and happily looked at him. The farmer was furiously sword into the dog’s body. The dog’s scream woke up the sleeping baby under the bloodstained blanket, at this moment, the farmer found a dead wolf lying in the corner. I could not imagine what the farmer’s emotional changes will be after realizing his impulsive behaviors, regret, sorrow, or self-reproach.
In fact, being impulsive is one of the most destructive emotions, it may bring the negative impacts more than we could imagine. Impulsive behaviors may hurts people who love you. Sometimes, a person experiences emotional setback not because what happen to the person, but the person has poor self-control of temperament. Furthermore, a person, no matter how successful, when it comes to be impulsive; it is very difficult to make the right choice in any situation.
Therefore, I believe in impulse is the devil which control me to do irrational things. The key to deal with impulse is that come down and give yourself time to think before making any decision.
