As I grew up, I was always by the side of my grandpa Elias. Planting vegetables, fruit and the most magnificent flowers I have seen. Other than planting, my grandpa taught me how to care for anything that is alive regardless if it may be a human, plant or animal. I remember growing up with so many wild animals around since we had woods in our backyard. Wild frogs, baby skunks, squirrels, and raccoons, you name it and we had it! My grandfather always would say “Why kill something living or hurt someone that is or isn’t doing anything to you? What good is coming from that?”
I believe because of that, mothers natures gifts should never be taken for granted. Everyone today is constantly into technology that no one looks at the positive things nature can do for us. A simple hour in the woods walking around can bring us to learn about ourselves and provide us time to reflect on the moments of our lives. I had a big life changing situation happen to me about three years ago and fell into a huge depression. Moving into my grandpa’s house had brought so many new perspectives and introduced me to nature.
I truly believe because of nature and appreciating a whole new world that I appreciated the beauty of every little thing. I became more of a calm person and appreciative for everything I have as well the people around me. As I watched animals react with one another I became very concerned about how our communities clear out so many homes for these animals and if it was the other way around us humans would not be okay with such a decision.
People and animals all have a heart. We also have different languages, some we can understand as well some we will never have the ability to communicate with. If we all showed more love to nature more of us would find ourselves and find a different way to live. Having all of these wild animals around me growing up has brought me to believe that everyone needs someone to care for them. That love is an ingredient in order to grow and this world we live in will always be growing. Hopefully this planet will always have loving people, land nature and animals.
I believe that in order for our lives to be more positive, we need to start appreciating nature and letting it make positive effects on us. Humans keep on focusing on the newest technology and the easiest way of living. Money cannot buy us happiness, neither can technology. Nature is something natural and it can provide many positive things to the people we want and need to be. Nature can help us learn who we are and shouldn’t be taken into granted, that is something I deeply believe.
