What’s the definition of a prayer? From Dictionary.com defines: a solemn request for help or expression of thanks addressed to God or an object of worship. What’s a prayer in your words? Does a prayer mean folding your hands and closing your eyes? It’s having an open conversation with God. As a little girl in my Summer dress growing up I learned how powerful a prayer really is.
Coming home from first grade, with colorful artwork and A+ on my spelling test for mom and dad to see (ends up on my side of the refrigerator). Artwork in my left hand and teddy bear in the other,I looked to give my dad a hug and tell him all about show and tell, but I realized that he was not there. All I saw was worried faces and I wondered?Later, I found out my dad was sick and was in the York Hospital. I think he would get better because he is strong man. I went to bed and mom told my brother that my dad was going to be in the hospital for some time. That was, September 18 , 2005 when he had kidney failure and he was put on dialysis.

That evening my mom told my siblings and I that all of us go could see dad. As walking through the lobby smelling hospital food and entering the dialysis unit, I walk in dad’s room and notice that he was hook up to IV’s and monitors, I hug dad and curl up next to him and started watching Survivor and talking about school.The part everyone hates to say is goodbye. I said goodbye as climb down the bed I hug dad tight as tears falling down my face. As all us we’re leaving my dad said a prayer. I walk out when a nurse told me what a powerful prayer it was.
Looking back on this tragic event and seeing how my family and I prayed and believing in a prayer. So, what is the power of prayer? It’s where right before my eyes how the prayer was fulfilled.He doing awesome with the new kidney that my mom gave him,he is striving everyday.Thank God for listening to prayer’s.
