I believe that the nature of consciousness offers some hope for humanity. This was my belief at the age of ten. I had been discouraged about the cold war and thought perhaps that all of humanity was doomed. Now over 30 years later I believe that my belief as a ten year old pointed me in the right direction. I believe that if one looks into the core of all beliefs….the statement “I am this” or “I am that” you can see that it is possible to go beyond belief into an awareness that is also a type of knowing. So before you go expanding on all your beliefs, ask yourself who or what is this “I” that is behind all this belief. What started as a belief in the significance of consciousness lead to a place where there is only awareness . Thus I started with “I believe” and came to say “I know”. So I’d like to thank that ten year old me for leading me to an awareness. An awareness that began with a simple statement of belief.
