There are many things in my life that helped shape the beliefs I hold to today, but the thing that has influenced my beliefs the most is my medical history. Spending most of my childhood in the hospital allowed me to see the world from a different angle.
Looking different, physically, from the majority of the population allowed me to see into people’s hearts in a way that most others cannot. As a young child I learned the hatred that exist in the world, and I will never forget the moment I realized it. I also learned the joy and kindness that exist in the world. Being able to see both extremes that exist in society had a great impact on who I became and who I strive to be on a daily basis. My beliefs were formed in a hospital room in Boston, Massachusetts and I am forever grateful.
