Many People I have met have a lot to say about coincidences. Coincidences,

which give a good result and some, which create trouble. I have heard many

people say that they were at the wrong place at the wrong time and so they

got into trouble. Others say that their lives were changed by a mere

coincidence. I have seen people who believe in coincidences and those who

I believe that there is no such thing as a coincidence and that everything

that happens is the plan of some unknown force, which plans and guides

everything that is going on. I strongly believe that everything that happens

happens for a reason. There have been many events in my life, which has

helped me shape his belief. When I was young I have heard a story of a king

who put his best friend in prison because he told the king that the wound

the king got was for the good. Later when the king was on a hunting party he

was caught by savages fro sacrifice and was saved because the savages

considered him impure to sacrifice due to the wound.  The king’s friend

after being released from prison told him that being locked up was good for

him because otherwise he would have accompanied the king in the hunt and

would have been sacrificed instead of the king.

This was just a story but its moral has helped me shape my belief and

actually started me thinking. I real life too, I have an example. My mother,

who was from a poor family got a job as a nurse because her brother

accidentally found an application form and gave it to her. Now she has a

good job and we have emigrated to the U.S. This was one of the defining

factors of my belief.

Just after I started writing this essay I received a chain letter about

coincidences. In it, I read about many people whose lives were saved from

9/11 because of little things. One woman was saved because she spilled juice

on her dress on the way to office and had to go back home to change. Another

man was saved because it was his turn to buy donuts for the office. Another

man developed a blister walking to work and had to stop at a busy drugstore

to buy a band-aid.

These were the many little things that happen to everybody and get people

frustrated. But these little things saved the lives of these people. It is

clear that they were meant to be there and this saved their life. I am sure

that they felt frustrated at these coincidences before they realized how it

saved their life. And I think they must have felt that the “coincidence” had

saved their life. I believe that the things that happened where not mere

coincidences but a well executed plan of some unknown and supernatural

force. I think the fact that I received this letter after I started writing

this essay itself is intriguing and that I was meant to include this in this

I believe that everything that happens, good or bad, always resulted in

something good even if they create some trouble when they happen. I believe

that life gives us chances and opportunities through these coincidences. We

have to learn to seize these opportunities. My mom seized the opportunity

and got the job.  I also believe that if life lands us in a frustrating

situation there is some hidden good that will happen in ours or somebody

else’s life. So now I don’t feel frustrated when I get into some troublesome

situation but silently face it because I know that I am supposed to be at

that place because of a reason, event though I don’t know what. I believe

that coincidence is just a term a humans being gives to something which they

can’t understand or explain. This, I believe.
