“I refuse to accept the view that mankind is so tragically bound to the starless midnight of racism and war that the bright daybreak of peace and brotherhood can never become a reality…. I believe that unarmed truth and unconditional love will have the final word”
– Martin Luther King, Jr.
I believe that with unity there is strength. I believe when people come together opportunities and dreams start to unfold. When there are a great number of people who are on one accord then there would be a great control of power in force. I believe that if more Black African Americans males would come together in unity then there would be no use for stereotypes and call them a lie. The fact that Black African American males are looked down upon, should be the motivation to prove others wrong. I believe that if more of the older men in the Black African American community, would show the young how to be a man, and unify in the community, then there would be less crime and more education. If more Black African American men in the community would come together instead of allowing the stereotypes stand correct, we as a great people would gain respect.
I believe that all men were created equal and should be treated as such. I believe that if the Black African American community would show better than telling, that we are a peculiar people, then and only then will other ignorant people will see, that we can reach our highest dreams, walk with our chest out, and be proud of who we are and where we come from. I believe that African American can disregard from using and being called “negro”. Block out the words that were given by ignorant people with ignorant mindsets, and be proud to say that I am an Black African American.
We can show so much then telling if we stop allowing each other the satisfaction of being called derogatory words. I believe that if the community would say something about major situations, which are accruing in today’s society, and acknowledge that the word “negro” is on the census which is absurd and disrespectful to the African American race and needs for a new change. I believe that if we as Black African Americans would come together in unity there would be strength.
“Each time a man stands up for an ideal, or acts to improve the lot of others, or strikes out against injustice, he sends forth a tiny ripple of hope… and crossing each other from a million different centers of energy and daring those ripples build a current that can sweep down the mightiest walls of oppression and resistance”.
-Robert F. Kennedy
