I believe that miracles do happen in everyday life, through experiences of my own and from the stories of others. A miracle is defined as an effect or extraordinary event in the physical world that surpasses all known human or natural powers and is ascribed to a supernatural cause. Have you ever experienced a miracle in your lifetime or know someone who has?
A personal experience with my own family was when my cousin Mark was playing outside with his two sisters, his mom, and mine. He was only six years old at the time so he didn’t know to be careful around a barbeque pit if it wasn’t even being used. While everyone was playing on the swing set, he decided that it was time to find out what was inside of a barbeque pit, and what made it work. “Mark, stay away from the barbeque pit,” my aunt warned him. But he didn’t listen and looked inside anyway. When he opened the top, he lost his grip on the handle and “WHAM!” the top slammed shut on his thumb. Everybody was panicking because his thumb was hanging on by only one piece of skin. After rushing him to the emergency room, the doctors stitched the thumb and told him to keep his cast on for two weeks but there was NO WAY that the thumb would survive. After the two weeks was up, the doctors unveiled what should have been a finger that was no longer there but instead, they found what appeared to be a brand new finger! Everybody was so happy words couldn’t describe the feeling.
I think that almost everybody would agree that a man named Don Piper experienced one of the biggest miracles of all times. He even wrote a book about his incredible experience where actually died, and came back to life, an hour and a half later. It happened in 1989, he was driving on a bridge in Texas, when a truck crashed into him and killed him almost instantly. He said in his book “90 minutes in heaven,” that he was greeted by all of his family and loved ones at the golden gates in heaven. An hour and a half later, he came back to life, something that is impossible to do!
He states that he remembers taking his last breath in his crushed car and takes a new in heaven. People say that it was just a dream but he says otherwise. He said that if it was a dream, he wouldn’t see th3e people that he saw when arriving to heaven. He saw people that he hadn’t seen or even mentioned in decades. Don Piper truly believes that he went to heaven and saw the spirits of his loved ones.
This is why I believe that miracles do happen, each and every day, even to the smallest extent. Many people doubt or don’t believe in miracles so, they probably won’t ever experience any of their own. I on the other hand am a strong believer in miracles and think that all things are possible.
