Believeing In God

God is someone who we can not see on earth, but he is someone who we can always see in our hearts. God has helped everyone out somehow someway. He is never far when you need him. He has been there for me many times but there was a time when he saved my life. If God had not saved my life, then I would not be who or what I am today. I have only told three people about this my whole life. Before I was born, my mom was told she was going to have twins. When my mom was about three months pregnant, she went to get a check up with her doctor because she was having too much pain. Doctors told her either the both the babies live and she dies or she lives but both the babies die. My mom burst into tears. She cried and cried and cried. She knew she could not do anything about what will happen, but what she knew she could do was pray.

Everyday and every night my mom would pray to God to help her and the babies. The

only people who there for my mom was my dad, my uncle, and my grandma. There was no one from my mom’s side of the family that was there to help or be there for her. This made my mom feel even worse. My mom felt like God was the only one left who was still with her. This was probably one of the worst situations my mom had to go through. She just didn’t know what to do. She loved the babies and wanted them to live but she also wanted to get to see them grow up.

When the day came for the babies to be born, my mom was scared to death, but my dad was by her side every step of the way. Just about thirty minutes after she got to the hospital, the first twin was born. About one and a half minutes later, I was born. Doctors did all that they could to help the twins but only one lived. I lived and I think it’s because of God. My mom also lived and I thank God for that.

I was not told this until I was about ten years-old. As soon as my parents told me, I started to cry. I started to wonder about many different things like what would life have been or what I would have been if my twin was still here. Before I was told this, I didn’t really believe in God or know who he was, but on the day I was told this, I knew he was real and this I believe.
