I got pregnant at a very young age; I was 14 at the time. Getting into high school was a very frightening experience for me. Half of my family did not think I was going to make it this far, even myself. In freshman year things started to get really hard. With a new born baby and all the school work I had to do, school was really difficult. I felt like I wasn’t able to keep up with school. I even thought about dropping out, but I didn’t because I wanted to make my baby proud, and show all my family and the people who didn’t believe in me that I can do a lot more then they think.
I decided to work harder in all my classes. At home I managed time to do my homework and take care of my baby at the same time; at first it was really difficult to get us to all the work I had to do. As the time passed I stared to get used to it and school became easier for me.
Sophomore year was a lot easier but high school always stressed me out. The work wasn’t that hard and I understood things a lot better. Although Biology was really hard I just keep working hard to past it. I did the same with Chemistry last year. As a single parent I can say that I have accomplished many things and worked hard because it would be easy for me to drop out but I chose not to. I choose to make a better life for my child, my family and myself. I now show everybody that by working hard I could accomplish a lot of things.
