I believe in the power of wanting

There are so many things I believe in; my faith, helping others, my family, and my influence on others, the love which is the universal value, along with everything I believe in is what moves me. This is what defines my personality and my individuality. I believe in many things and live with the conviction that what I do is the right thing and that it will make me happy.

There are times when we want to do something and we just don’t do it because there are so many obstacles in our life. The thing is that what we do with our lives depends on the decisions we made and if we live happy is because we decided to. The conviction that to want is to do or to have is what I consider the motivation that moves my life the most. This I believe, in the power of doing what we want to, as well as fight to reach our goals; perseverance is the word.

To recall a situation, I was trying to ride my first pink bicycle without the training wheels, crying to my dad “I can’t dad I just can’t” he would tell me “you don’t say I can’t sweet heart you must say instead I don’t want to.” I cannot express how angry I used to get with my father for telling me that; moreover, I can’t express how thankful I am to my dad for teaching me that life lesson. To be perseverant is what will make me succeed. In my entire life I have been fighting and trying to better myself at everything I do. I have to say, there are times when I feel that I just can’t anymore. Here is when all other values come like love that for me it can do anything, and my family as well as my faith, but there is always something that pushes me to appreciate these values and take advantage of them; my willingness to go on and not give up, despite the fact that I’m facing the worst situation.

With the perseverance and the willingness to do what I have to do, I know I will succeed. Just as I had to win my battle against that bicycle, then I persevered to graduate in three years from high school and now I persevere to succeed in my life and have a great education putting all my effort and my faith and love in everything I do. My mom used to tell me when I was little that “The one who perseveres reaches” by this my mom wanted to teach me that in order to reach a goal I have to fight and confront a lot of hard situations. Having this in my mind all the time, and knowing that I can do whatever I want if I really want to do it, I will be a better person everyday.
