faith
Share This Essay:
When you think of faith, usually religion is associated with faith, of course because faith plays a huge and important part in religion. The Merriam-Webster Dictionary defines faith as: 1. allegiance to duty or a person; loyalty, fidelity to ones promises, sincerity of intentions. 2. Belief and trust in loyalty to God, belief in traditional doctrines of religion, firm belief in something for which there is no proof, or complete trust. 3. Something that is believed especially with strong conviction, especially a system of religious beliefs. The type of faith that I am talking about is faith in general, “complete trust”.
I believe that in order to get through any day, bad days and even good days, I have to have faith in every little thing. I worry a lot, and I see the negative side of things, and in order for me to stay calm and composed, I have to be faithful and hopeful. When my friends are going through things, or maybe even family members, I easily have hope and faith for their situations. By me doing that, they see how strong and calm I am about it, and it helps them get through it. But in my own life, it seems like the most difficult thing to continuously have faith and be hopeful.
My first few months of college have taught me much about faith and hope and the power behind them. There are so many things in life that can test a person, in my case, these things weren’t like death or anything tragic, but they were relatively new to me. I am a triplet and I have two brothers and obviously, we are going to college all at the same time right now. Where I am, I do not need to worry about anything financially, but where they chose to go, they did not get enough money, so my parents have to come up with the deficit. The thing is, my father was laid off a few years ago, and my mother retired because she was injured at work. Today my dad is still looking for a job. My mother cannot work because of her type of injury. For a while my dad had no idea what to do or what his goal was. A few days ago, when me and my father were on the road running errands, we spoke about the whole situation. We mapped out what he needed to do to get to where he wanted to be. I was so happy because we could finally see his goal. through months and months of worrying about everything, my dad always told me not to worry and to hang in there, things will get better. He always sighed and said “we need a miracle” as if nothing we could do would make anything better. But this just proves that if u keep hoping and u have strong faith in anything, that in time something good will come.
