the secret lives of people
I recently visited a small town called New Hope. It is located on the eastern side of Pennsylvania right along the Delaware River and next to Lambertville, New Jersey. While strolling the streets with my girlfriend and her family, I started to notice all of the people around me. There were so many bikers. As we were talking my girlfriend’s father brought up a valid question that had us all thinking, “How many of these people work white collar, suit and tie jobs and come out here on the weekends all dressed in their leathers and studs and piercings?”
Not all cases may be this extreme but it seems that every person has an alternate personality. Take me for example, at first glance I seem to be a calm easy going person, not very outgoing and rather quiet. But I love loud, fast, heavy hardcore music with lots of screaming. I hang out with guys that have more tats than you can count, wear makeup and have piercing. I hang with girls with died jet black hair, nose rings, full sleeves (entire arms covered with tattoos) and that drink and swear like sailors. I love going to shows where you are packed in like sardines and it’s so hot you sweat just standing. I love getting in the pits where you get battered and bruised. If you don’t get or give a black eye or a bloody lip you’re not doing it right.
Everybody hides a little bit of themselves. It may be a hidden biker, into a crazy scene or may just be some simple guilty pleasures that everyone has and are just too afraid to admit but people are people and having fun is what it’s all about. So share your inner self and guilty pleasures you can make friend that will last a lifetime. And no matter what kind of secret life someone is living FUN is always the reason.
