Impossible Is Nothing
Share This Essay:
“Impossible is nothing.” A single and simple quote on the back of the coach’s shirt; reading and rereading it as though it was going to pop right off the shirt and hit me in the face. I pry my eyes away but the quote sticks in my mind like sticky tack to the wall. In that straightforward little quote, there is a lot of meaning. I take away from this quote that anything is possible. Impossible is nothing, and this I truly believe.
When I was trying out for the basketball team, I had absolutely no idea what to expect, like a little kid not knowing what they were going to get on Christmas. I knew some people, but I was still nervous and full of doubt. During the tryouts, I didn’t know what the coaches thought of me. When they were over, I thought I wasn’t going to make the team even though I had been working hard to improve what I could bring to the table. Well it turned out that I did make the team. All my hard work had finally paid off! If you put your mind to a task, it will be completed.
Walking into any “bigger” school is a tough transition, but everybody has to go through it eventually. For me, moving into the middle school was exciting, fresh, and of course, new, just like a crisp dollar bill. In fifth grade, I was so nervous about the next year close ahead. Coming shortly were the lockers, different teachers, and four minutes between periods. Specials and grades added to that list too. Overwhelming? A bit, but I tried my hardest and focused to keep my goals high on my list. In the end it all worked out: I liked the teachers, I kept my grades up, and all the specials were fun. I strived forward to reach and achieve my goal.
When you are in seventh grade, there is a chance that you could be inducted into the National Junior Honor Society. To get into this rewarding program, you have to have a 3.7 grade point average in the last two marking periods of sixth grade and the first two of seventh. So, you have to be prepared to work your hardest at everything you do. I found myself stressing over the importance of getting in. I studied and tried hard for my grades. This fall, I was invited into the group! I was proud of myself because another goal had been conquered from my intense belief.
When something seems hopeless, don’t get down just always remember this quote, “Impossible is nothing”. One day I was talking to my math teacher about how I didn’t understand the concept. I was saying that I was going to fail the quiz the next day because I wasn’t ready. He said, “Just try it”, so I said fine. I tried it and I ended up doing it right. Then he said: “See I told you just to try it”.
When life gives you a chance, take it, but don’t forget that impossible is nothing.
