you can’t change the world unless you change yourself!!

I’m 12 yrs old and I have gone through a lot in life. Mostly small, but it seems huge to me. Not everyone will try to bring you down, people will. I learned that the hard way. Classmates and friends made fun of me because of moronic reasons such as my shoes and my hair. That’s how I learned to be proud and show integrity. I realized in tough situations, being proud is important because you can’t stop in cry. You have to be strong and never look back at what could have been, but could be!!!!

It’s not always that easy when people are trying to bring you down. I put full effort in everything that I put my mind to, I always try to succeed. Everywhere I go, harsh comments are thrown my way, especially when I tried out for the volleyball team. People on the team weren’t so friendly. They acted like I wasn’t good enough to join because they said things like “She won’t last one minute!” Although I shouldn’t have listened, I couldn’t help but take their comments personally.

Listening to these comments, affected how poorly I played and my games and it didn’t take long for me to think poorly of myself.

That wasn’t the only time I got humiliated by others. Once I thought my “BEST FRIEND” was my friend. We had great times watching movies and taking shopping trips to the mall. Although I think it was hiding who I am and who she really is. She criticized me, to make herself look great. By saying things like “I’m better than you!!!” or “your ugly!” some friend she was. Being friends with her taught me to look away and rise above comments that are harmful to me.

And know I realize that anybody well try to bring you down because of moronic reasons, but as I went through life I found the strength though family and my goals. By focusing on me I noticed that I could rise above the comments and changes. That’s why I look beyond; because I know I can’t change the world unless I change me!!!
