I believe being drunk hurts everyone around you. If you drink sometimes it can get a little out of hand. People being drunk and getting out of hand play a role in my life. On a cold December 9th when I was 6 or 7years old my dad was hit by a drunk driver while he was crossing the road when he was drunk, he was seriously hurt, he had brain damage, a broken jaw, he was paralyzed, and paralyzed his arm. It has been about 8 years now and since the accident my dad has been back to college physical therapy and now has learned to drive again. My dad still has slurred speech and has trouble speaking but at least every Saturday I speak to him and every time I do it he sounds better than he ever was. I will never forget that day and how it changed my life.

From that day on I knew drinking was bad news.

A few years later when I moved from England to America my mom married a guy who became my step dad he had 2 sons, Frankie and Anthony. My new step dad married my mom seeming like a little angel. 5 years later the marriage was over. My step dad abused my mom when he was drunk. One night it got too out of hand my step dad got over the top and hit my mom over the head with the iron base of the lamp. He also threw a dresser, a hair brush and everything you can think. After that my mom and step dad went to court, one of the court days he showed up drunk, my step dad hasn’t learned hi lesson he still drinks has 5 DUI’s. As you can see drunken people aren’t on my good side. Serious injuries can occur when people are drinking, for example people fight when they get drunk. As you can see my drunk people are my enemies, when my mom goes out with her friends to go for a drink I get scared just incase the same thing happens again to her and then my life goes tumbling down a hill and nothing will be the same. Even though I’m young I’ve made a promise to myself and to my mom to never drink and let things get out of hand.
