The soothing feeling of a sweet item being dissolved in my mouth, the elated happiness that it brings to me when I realize that the taste has stayed on my tongue, and the gentle easing of stress off my mind – these are the emotions I undergo when I pop a bold piece of chocolate into my mouth. Many say there are different little cures for a day gone bad; I believe there is only one cure. I believe in the calming and sedating feelings that chocolates give off.
First, a perfect remedy for a sour day out in the rain is to let a silky and smooth chocolate ease away the distress of frizzy hair and damp clothing. Once I feel that chocolate in my mouth start to melt upon my tongue, my problems seem to melt with it. Forget ice cream or cookies as companions; with chocolate beside me, I am invincible. Nothing distressful can cling to my mind with a strong, relaxing chocolate by my side. Just as a gentle nurse soothes the aches and pains of a sick person, chocolate relieves my stress and tensions. I believe in chocolate that can melt my headaches away with a single taste.
Just like there are many different treatments to cure ailments, there are many different types of chocolates. Smooth, sweet chocolates or dark, silky chocolates or even tempting milk chocolates – all of these can chase ill feelings quickly away! For example, after a devastating break-up with a boyfriend, a dark, sleek chocolate is perfect for a boost. When I toss this powerful energizer into my mouth after a sorrowful break-up, my sad, depressed feelings instantly change into a happier, perkier mood. With chocolate in my corner, I can face my pain with a brighter smile. I believe in chocolates that can boost my emotions high into the sky with a single lick.
Finally, to be cured of an ailment, one must take medicine, usually accompanied by water. Likewise, while eating chocolate by itself is wonderful, I sometimes eat strawberries dipped in chocolate. This combination of flavors makes my taste buds dance for joy. Better yet, I do not have to be sad or lacking energy to eat a delicious strawberry immersed with chocolate. I can bite into one and immediately be transported to a world filled with swirling colors and mouth-watering aromas, perfect for a boring day. I can escape into a world of Technicolor with strawberry dipped chocolates on my tongue. I believe in chocolates that spur my world of imagination with a single bite.
There are plenty of different cures for different kinds of pain. I believe in chocolate that vanquishes my heartaches and rainy days.
