Family is a word that has lost its value over time. Family has been just looked at as relatives without the main attachment. The main attachment is the love that is built over time. What is family though? Is it just being related to someone? Is it sharing the same blood? Or is it a bond between someone that the devil himself couldn’t even break? I known some of my friends longer than I known some of my cousins, so I consider those friends my family. Blood couldn’t make us any closer than what we are. It would just give us a different title. Friends can become family easily depending on the relationship shared. Vice versa, family can become friends depending on the relationship shared. I believe relatives and family are two different subjects. Relatives are people that one share blood with or the same ancestors. Family is a special bond, a monument of memories and compassion built from the foundation of love.

My experience with my family has been an exciting path. Many problems have happened with my family but we all seem to act like it doesn’t effect us. For someone on the outside looking in, we look like a regular family. I think that my family has lost the values that we begun with. I really can’t see my family being happy again. Our foundation has been damaged so much that it can’t be rebuilt. The only way to get it back would be to have a fresh start. Meaning we have to teach the family values to the young ones and make sure they enforce them. They are our future and to make the future right we have to teach our mistakes and not allow them to be repeated. If they fail to succeed at it then values would just become another word lost in history.

I believe a good family starts with its ancestors. I believe a good family is built with love. I believe that family is not only relatives. I believe family is not only a word or group, but it has a stronger meaning. I believe family is everything!
