The essay that you are about to read is an interesting essay. It’s different from the essays that you would usually read. Of course you’ve probably known that since you read the first sentence. Instead of telling you something that really has nothing to do with the actual writing of the essay I’m going to tell you what I learned in the process of trying to write my essay and that is that I love my life.
When my English teacher told me that we were going to write personal essays I thought, wow how hard is this going to be? I’m writing about myself. Any teenager can tell you that’s pretty much who they think about 24/7. So I think of one of my beliefs and back it up with a story. All about me. I did that in kindergarten. How hard can it be?
Oh it was very hard. I thought and thought and thought about it. What can I write about? I searched through various quotes and thought of something with each one of them, but none seemed like the right thing to write about. I found various quotes about friends, family, love, inspiration, etc. You know the quotes I’m talking about. I have a story for each and every one of them but none seemed big enough. Who cares if I have a few awesome friends that get me through everything? And just then I realized what I was forgetting about. I was forgetting who this essay was about. I care that I have the most amazing friends ever, I care that my family is always there for me. All these tiny things make my life awesome and I love every minute of it.
This essay wasn’t to entertain anybody with a huge event that has happened in my life, it was to tell everyone about me and I believe that is what I’ve done. And that is what I learned while writing my essay.
