Sometimes I sit in class and wonder what other people are thinking. Are they really listening to the teacher? Could they be thinking about what I’m thinking? One thing that is so fascinating about thought is the way I can never really understand other peoples’ minds. But, I am still are able to know our own inside and out. I believe in the power of thought. It is the thing that I am able to keep to myself, yet it still defines the type of person I am.
It is really difficult to explain the power of thinking. Every line I want to write keeps changing in my head before I can get it down. So bare with me while I try to put on paper the things I think about thinking.
Every thought I think is well thought out. Each day I say things in my head before I say them aloud. So goes the phrase, “think before you speak”. The way I reword my thoughts before I say them is what defines the person I am. Some people don’t use this editing devise to their advantage, and they say things that come across as rude or not very smart.
Peoples’ minds can determine their futures: “You are today where your thoughts have brought you; you will be tomorrow where your thoughts take you.” This quote from author James Allen expresses how my thoughts change the life I have, in the past, present, and future.
My mind is a jumble of a million things. Sometimes I wish I could find an off switch for a little peace and quiet. But then, what would that leave me? I’d be an empty shell walking around with no feeling. I do not know what that means. Does it mean my future is a mess? Probably not I believe it means that my thoughts just aren’t completley planned out yet. One day that jumble will start to make sense, and then maybe I’ll be able to tell the future.
