This I Believe
I believe in the values and learning’s of hard work. Without hard work we would be nowhere. Nobody ever created or invented anything without the perseverance of hard work. Growing up in Idaho in a little town you learn how to work hard really fast or you just flat out won’t have a job. The person that I believe has influenced me the most in hard work is my grandpa. He is almost 70 years old and up till recently he could work circles around anybody. I remember one instant where he had a bundle of trusses fall on him and it knocked him out. But as soon as we got the trusses off of him he got up and went back to work. But I guess you can say he has been a major role model for me as far as learning how to work.
The whole time I was growing up my parents were constantly building things I remember building 2 houses with my dad and this was all on the side and also 2 sets of apartments. Also growing up in a small farming community there is always a farmer that needs help. It might be stacking hay bales driving truck pulling head gates anything you can think of that has to do with farming I’ve done it.
My most recant job that I had before getting laid off due to a sudden collapse in the building industry was a heavy equipment operator. Now you might think what’s so hard about running equipment. The thing about heavy equipment is that your always so stressed out about everything around you one mistake can literally cost multi-millions of dollars. You’re trying to do it as safely as possible at the same time the boss is pushing you to run as fast as you can its very stressful.
I really think that America would be so much farther ahead if everybody would buckle down and go to work. There are too many people that live off the government and think that’s ok. Of course if you can’t work they should help you but it’s not fair to good taxpaying citizens to support other people when they can just get off of their lazy buts and go to work. But I’m not saying I’ve always enjoyed working hard but I know that it has made me such a better person with better values, and I know that if I’m given any task I can succeed.
