Seasons change but people don’t. That’s probably the easiest way to put it. My best friend currently is not my best friend anymore.
For 11 years we’ve been friends and suddenly something changes and its different now. We promised each other we’d be best friends forever but that promise was broken about a year ago.
Sure, we used to keep in touch and hang out but now it’s one or two word conversations that feed our friendship. Or what’s left of a friendship. We used to be two peas in a pod but once I moved away, everything changed. Our styles, our views, our friends, almost everything that we used to have in common changed. We are as different as night and day and nothing could change that.
Who’s to say that you can’t have one friend your whole life? Well, from my experience, that’s what I’ve come to believe. Change happens everyday so good luck keeping up.
Dear best friend, this is the end. Love, your best friend.
