I believe I have an obligation to mankind to serve others. This is my core value that I believe not only I should follow, but also that people everywhere should live and practice to the uttermost. Deep within me is a passion that I choose to show to others and my neighbors. This passion is the ability to be a helper and server to those in need of service and the wanting of my help that I can offer.
Ever since I was young I was taught to be of service to those in need of help. This core value was instructed into me over and over. Thru time I began to retain this belief and began to put it to daily use in my youth. For example helping my mother around the house with chores. While she would wash clothes I would fold the dry clothes for her. It was a simple thing for me to do and I knew it was helping me practice my core value. It was also giving her assistance so she wouldn’t be exhausted and overburdened with work. I knew that she would appreciate my effort to help her and I knew that it was the right thing for me to do. Everyday from then on I would find some way to serve others. Soon enough it became natural to me. I began to realize that it was a habit that I had created and not only that, but also that it was helping my character develop into a young successful person.
I believe there are three reasons to why I believe in servitude. First reason is that with serving others you help someone who is in need of just a simple loving caring act. With doing so you show someone unspeakable love and unforgotten care who may have never received any type of servitude before. The second reason is that it changes who you are towards others and how they may view you as an individual. Say you noticed that someone dropped his or her books in the hallway. You recognize that no one is stopping to help them. So at that last moment you stop and help them pick up the fallen books. That person begins to change their mind that there are people out there that are not self-minded and that they care not only about themselves but others to. From then on you are engraved in their mind as the one individual in a crowd that recognized their need of assistance and who stopped to help them when they needed it. The last reason is that it just changes how you feel inside. It would make you feel appreciated for what others have done for you, and it would help you realize that you should help others when you get the chance to.
Since my youth I have realized the importance of servitude and its impact in society when others practice it and live by it. It could end wars and bring enemies together. It’s a powerful force that should be put into practice everyday. If society would recognize the importance of serving others we as a whole human race would be in much better shape than what we are in. One major example that people were servers to others was when Katrina hit America a couple years ago. With the destruction of communities due to the hurricane many people were left to a path of destruction. Homes, stores, buildings and lives were destroyed and ruined because of this catastrophic event. But there was hope for the people who lost everything. For see people from all over came to help people who were in need of help. They gave food, shelter, and hope for a new start to the people in need. This is one of the major examples I believe servitude was showed.
Serving others is the best thing you can do for someone. It can lift someone up in need and change lives forever. This is my true philosophy that I wish everyone would understand and believe in and would make their very own just as I have done.
