School, a learning facility or a prison for young people? Why was school invented? Is it just a “babysitting service” for our parents? I believe that school isn’t what we all thought it is to truly be. We are at school from dawn till the afternoon. About seven hours of school everyday. I work hard and get good grades, but I can’t help feeling that I’m doing much more than I have too. For example I get piles and piles of work everyday of school, but my teachers just aren’t satisfied so they must give me homework. This keeps me preoccupied outside of school also. What I am writing now is actually English homework!
School, to me, is like a prison in the following ways; there is always work to be done, I feel like I’m always moving from place to place, and the day never seems to end. Another bad attribute of school is it starts at the crack of dawn. Everyday I wake up at 6:30 sharp, I leave at 6:50, and school starts at 7:15. I sometimes find myself falling asleep during class, I’m lucky that I have study-hall 2nd period or I would never be paying attention in class. The only positive thing that I can think of is I get to see my friends. I have my best friend in only one class, but I have at least three friends in each of my classes.
The worst thing about school is the abundance of work that I have to do everyday. On top of that there’s the abundance of homework I have to do after school. Every weekend I have to write at least three essays, which is not my idea of a fun weekend. In my own perspective school is just a way to keep all us young people preoccupied and to not annoy our parents or any other adults.
School, in my views, is a prison. There is always work to be done, I’m always moving from place to place, and the day seems to drag on forever. I can’t wait to get home, but when I do my mom has to force me to do my homework. I can’t stand the educational system and I can’t wait until I graduate and I’m finished with school forever!
