This I Believe
I believe a friend is always closer than you think. Sometimes you might not even know them very well or you don’t get along with them easily. All you have to do is look around you.
I believe in friendship. A friend will always stand by your side no matter what, and they will always be close to you. I remember I hated my best friend at first. I couldn’t stand him and he couldn’t stand me. All I did was fight and bicker with him at every single moment. But even though he disliked me, when I was down under the clouds, he was always there for me at my side.
After the day my best friend was there for me, we were like two peas in a pod. And eventually he became my “brother”. What’s funny was that people actually thought he was my older sibling; he stood by my side, always. I actually had a very close friend. I loved having the thought of him being my absolute best friend. He started eating dinner with my family and supporting me at volleyball games or other sporting events (we were coming closer together every day).
A friend is someone who you can trust. I was going through some tough issues at school before I met my best friend, but that all changed rather quickly. I didn’t care about having problems at school anymore; I learned to socialize with people after he came along. My “bubba” helped my through everything; whether it be homework or advice. I could always count on him for answers or just anything.
My best friend taught me many things in life. I found a person who I could always trust and count on. I believe in friendship. A friend is always closer than you think. This I believe.
