I believe in Family
I believe in family. Not just as family related to you by blood, but you can also have family by marriage, or just really close friends who have been there for you anytime you needed them.
I personally have a pretty big blood related family, because my dad has five brothers and sisters they are all married, and they all have at least one kid. So I have a lot of people helping me to get through all the hard decisions, sadness and tragedy; as surprising as it sounds, sometimes the tough times can bring everyone closer together. However, family can also be there to celebrate the positive things in your life.
Also, I have a few close friends that I consider to be “almost related” to me and I would definitely be the same person I am today without them. They too, have helped me through some sticky situations.
A really tough time for me was when my grandmother; on my mom’s side died of cancer. I was really upset and distraught and I felt like I wouldn’t even be able to get through the day. To top it all off, it was my best friend’s birthday. But my friends and family were there for me. My friends were there for me all the way, just listening to me, and helping me deal with the situation. My family, was very supportive of me, they helped me by explaining to me that she was happy to see me living a wonderful life with so many people around me who loved me for who I am. And I am so grateful that they were there for me, and I know that they always will be.
I believe that family isn’t a word to describe the people who you see once a year at Thanksgiving. I believe it to be the feeling you get when you are around those people and any other people who you consider near and dear to your heart. That’s what family is.
