I believe we always have a choice. That there are no shackles on us in this life other than the ones we are unable to sacrifice-either as an act of self-preservation or an unwillingness to let go.
I left my entire life behind me, half way around the world to seek adventure. I sought the unknown for reasons I have yet to understand even today. After twenty years in Florida, I hopped in my car and didn’t stop until I was in Alaska. It wasn’t my intention to end up all the way in the Last Frontier, but here I am. I met many, lost a few, loved, lost again…met innumerable hurdles which threatened to force me to turn around, but here I am, and this is what I have learned:
I believe we can rise above any and all expectations, especially those we set for ourselves. That we can deny social molds we’ve been taught to understand as our own beliefs. That as individuals, we have the power to forge our own ambitions and make them reality.
I hope that we can decline the opportunity to impose our will on others should it arise. I believe that individually we can recognize and follow the right path as we judge it. But that we will never be truly righteous, or powerful-mearly human beings.
It’s entirely possible and completely like that I am wrong-This I believe.
