I believe in believing in yourself. I don’t think I could accomplish a lot of the things in my life if I didn’t push myself into believing that I could actually do it, and I think if more people believed in themselves, they’d be more content with life.
I’m very ambitious about getting into a good college but sometimes school gets a little overwhelming for me due to all the AP classes and pressure to keep up my grades. However, I never tell myself that I can’t do all of it or that it’s work too big to fit into my palms. I work at accomplishing all the homeworkand studying for tests because life is not about just sitting back and relaxing when you want to achieve goals in life. If I thought I couldn’t do it, than I probably wouldn’t have but I have learned to find that inner strength in me that lets nothing hold me back.
I’ve known people who tend to not try and think that they can’t do something, either because someone tells them they can’t do it or that they don’t believe in themselves. Let me tell you this, don’t you ever let someone tell you that you can’t do something because honestly, it’s you that truly decides your abilities. If you put down your hope, if you look at things in a negative aspect, and if you think you have unwillingness to accomplish something, than more likely, you will not accomplish in getting what you want. Having a positive outlook on your abilities to do something will help you learn more about yourself than you’ll ever know; once you’ve accomplished something, you feel like you can keep on accomplishing more and more and improve yourself.
One of the biggest mistakes people have made in their life is limiting themselves which portrays a picture in their mind that they’re failures, when in reality they just don’t give themselves a chance. Of course we all are unique and we all have different things we’re good at but that shouldn’t stop us from believing in ourselves to take on other areas. Just because you fail once, doesn’t mean that you’ll fail again, unless if you think you will then you probably will because negativity brings disabilities. We are always our worst critics but we are also our best chance at achieving if there’s believing; every goal that’s been accomplished was by someone that knew deep inside that they could do it and didn’t let negative feed back hold them from crossing the finishing line.
The world we live is nothing close to perfect so it is up to you to assimilate in a society that takes no “loser” who thinks he/she can just sit back not try and then complain about the aftermath. Some people don’t realize that not believing in themselves is not inconsequential and someday you will realize that it would’ve been better to try and fail rather than not try at all because life is not scripted on a piece of paper; you never know what the outcome of life.
The quote “Be happy with what you have,” is completely ludicrous; why be happy with what you have when you deserve more. Believing in yourself can take you farther than you may think and it can open up more doors for you in life.
