A Scoop on Life
I believe that hot fudge sundaes include important ingredients that help to make my life a successful, enjoyable, and memorable experience. Eating hot fudge sundaes have been a part of my growing up years since I was in pre-kindergarten. To me, the hot fudge sundae symbolizes the beginning of a new school year and new life experiences. Since pre-kindergarten, it has been a tradition for my mom and I to meet the same group of friends each year for ice cream at the end of the first day of school. It is heartwarming that we meet each year, because most of the friends attend different schools. This has been a tradition for 11 years. We have met for so many years that I wouldn’t be surprised if the owner recognizes me when I visit the store!
The hot fudge sundae has always been a favorite choice of mine. Each layer shows steps on how to lead a successful and rich life. I believe that the bowl serves as the foundation for the tasty treat. It is a solid structure that holds the creamy scoops of ice cream. Like the bowl, my family and friends have served as my foundation to help support me when I needed help in life and in making decisions.
I believe the scoops of ice cream are like the many choices that come into my life. So many times, it is difficult to make the decision of what flavor to choose. In my life, I have learned to take my time in making the right choices, and I have usually enjoyed the results of my decisions.
I believe that the hot fudge sauce sticks to the top of the scoops just as my friends and family have stuck with me. I am fortunate to have such caring friends and family members who always support me. Having life-long friends and supportive family members are necessary ingredients to a warm and prosperous life.
I believe that the nuts are the bumps along the road in life, and the challenges that may come my way. The whipped cream and cherry on top are my favorite toppings. I always want to gobble them down first. They remind me that I need to be patient and not try to rush things in life. Special events sometimes do not happen as quickly as I would like, but my goals are met when I am patient and persistent.
A strong foundation, wise decisions, learning patience, and being persistent are ingredients that can make life a rewarding one. Building a hot fudge sundae is a memorable and enjoyable event for everyone.
The proof of this is that my friends and I have promised to continue to meet every year. I am already looking forward to my next hot fudge sundae. If you have the opportunity, how will you build your sundae?
