LIGHT

The light flicks on,

You feel all warm,

But in the dark,

Sense the scorn.

Turning on the light,

You see so clearly,

Gone is the plight,

So close, so near me.

The plight is the something,

You never see lurking,

Because of the dark,

Your imagination is working.

Scary thought, freaky ideas,

BOOM! the darks vanishes,

“Later!” “See ya!”

Ram into the closet, the desk drawer,

Those pains in the knee,

Hard to ignore.

Turn on the brights,

Hooray we can see!

Reassurance, safety is light,

So count on your eyes for right sight.

Symbol of security,

Safe and warm,

Let’s not make the darkness norm.

“This I Believe”

Light is a need,

Don’t let the dark grow like a weed.
