I have amazing friends who tell me secrets, teach me new concepts, holds my hand when I jump, and clutches me close when I cry. My friends have traveled all over the world several times and speak many languages. Recently my friends have been able to figure out a way to go from Houston, Tx. to Goshen, IN within two minutes.
It doesn’t matter what I’m doing or where I’m at they always seem to be right there with me. I could be eating, doing homework, sleeping, playing sports anything really, and they never miss a beat. They each have a way of relating to me. Whether it is what they say or how they say it, they constantly get it right. My friends aren’t just great to me but anyone else who meets them gets inspired to dance, sing, and or even start a movement.
Everyone wants them to be a part of their lives, and I don’t ever get jealous. The best part of being their friend is having the ability to share them. There is no way I could ever be stingy and keep them to myself. Sharing the experiences I have with them gives me pleasure and makes me feel as if I’m actually the one making people dance, sing, or starting a new cause.
I’m impressed at how long we’ve all been friends considering how busy life is for us these days. I mean we all go through phases where we prefer to be with one over the other. Sometimes we just get together two at a time meeting at a common ground using much creative to get along.
If you haven’t figured it out yet I have been talking about music. Not just music as a giant, but specifically the different genres and subgenres that have emerged in the past several decades. Examples would be GO-GO (a type of funk music originated in Washington, D.C. or Reggaeton which is a blend of reggae, dancehall, bombata, House, and hip-hop from Panama or Techno from Detroit, Michigan it is electronic dance music influenced by New Wave and funk that surfaced at the end of the Cold War.
These friends have been around since I can remember. I feel so fortunate to have them by my side at all times. All together, as a team, they keep up with my many mood swings. They keep me grounded and focused on the better part of life here on Earth. So I encourage you to appreciate your friends. I’m sure you have favorites, but don’t be afraid to venture out and make new friends.
