Life and What it Brings
Can you picture life? Is there a definition? Life is the center of our most unknown wonders. Life is all around us be it plants, insects, mammals or reptiles.
What are we living for? What is our purpose? I believe that surviving is not the sole purpose of life, but to get the most out of life is how to survive. I believe that we are living for change be it good or bad. The definition of life is the condition that distinguishes organisms from inorganic objects and dead organisms, being manifested by growth through metabolism, reproduction, and the power of adaptation to environment through changes originating internally. I believe there is tons more to life so I will elaborate on what I think should be added onto that definition.
Life seems to rise as a controversial issue when religion is introduced. I have boundlessly doubted my faith and beliefs of life. I have always said to have followed Christianity, but there are some things I don’t quite agree with. I have accepted the fact that parts of evolution are true also. A person shouldn’t have to take religion forced upon them. I believe that there is more to life than religion. Nothing can tell you exactly how to live your life. I think that religion can be the core of peace and happiness, yet it could potentially tear apart families and even countries. I do believe in an afterlife of some sort. I believe that we all have souls. Then, from that, I have extracted that when you die, your soul carries onto and afterlife.
I can picture life, my life, and what I would like to achieve in my future. With that I also have dreams, which I think all people should have. My dream is to be a professional singer. I would also like to have my own restaurant and to work with animals. I have goals also (get some!). I would like to make it into our advanced choir, get a job at our local library, and have a good volleyball season. I think the people that take time to think about life and what it may bring are the people who appreciate life itself the most. That is why I am trying to understand myself and the world around me better. I want to make it the best I can because I know I only have one life time on Earth to make it the most it can be.
I guess you could say that I’ve formed my own opinions of life and how it’s supposed to be, so I have some to share. As the world turns, life goes on in a cycle. I think it is a cruel cycle because of the way we are draining the world of its resources. In this (cruel) cycle, we still live on. That is where I believe we come in (as people) on Earth. Some of us choose to be leaders, others choose to be followers. One may choose to disrespect and disobey, while the other keeps peace and brings happiness. In the end, though, we all need to unite for the common good. You can’t expect too much out of life if you aren’t willing to give back to the common good. I’ve realized that no matter how hard we try to perfect life or keep it the same, it will always be endlessly changing. I think people need to be strong and have their own beliefs to keep up with the change. Life comes hand in hand. I am careful to choose my battles wisely; I will truly strive for nothing less than security, love, and happiness in my life.
Once again, the definition of life is the condition that distinguishes organisms from inorganic objects and dead organisms, being manifested by growth through metabolism, reproduction, and the power of adaptation to environment through changes originating internally. Now you can surely tell that I believe there is more to life than what a dictionary can tell you!
