The Moment my Life Changed
Share This Essay:
At approximately 1.45pm on August 9th 2007 my life was changed forever by the doctor telling my husband. “You have cancer.”
Those words in that moment set in motion a series of tests to find the root of the problem, meetings to decide the best way forward and a course of treatment to get rid of the dark shadow that is now hanging over our lives.
For the first time in years and with more vigour than ever before I have turned to God.
I started to pray as I have never prayed before and I have received more comfort than I thought was possible. As I have prayed I have felt the presence of the Lord and the Blessed Virgin with me.
When I pray, the tears stops and the fear evaporates. Those feelings are replaced by hope for my husband’s full recovery and a belief in his healthy future.
I believe that with My Heavenly Father and His Holy Mother as our allies in this fight we can win this battle. Together we will defeat this enemy.
