I Believe
I believe through prayer the impossible becomes possible. As a child many people in my life expressed the importance of prayer. Praying as a child was an empty routine. However, out of obedience I prayed. I have prayed for many things through out the years, some happened some did not. That did not stop me from praying. As I have gotten older, I realize how important prayer has become in my life. Many impossible situations have caused me to believe strongly in prayer and in a prayer answering God.
When my son was five years old he began to run a high fever (103.6). With no medicine in the house and no money to take him to the hospital I had to rely on prayer. My husband and I began to pray and believe God for his healing. Within two hours his fever was gone and he was up playing. This was an impossible situation. Through this experience my belief in prayer began to grow.
Once again there came a time when I had to believe for the impossible. After my son was born I waited five years before trying to have another child. After many years of trying I went to a doctor to find out if there was a problem with me conceiving. The first doctor told me I would never have another child. Because I was not satisfied with his answer I went to two other doctors. The out come was the same; I would never have another child. The explanation they gave me did not satisfy me. I began to pray. I prayed and asked God for another child. I prayed for a girl. After sixteen years of waiting, I conceived and had a girl.
Again, when my brother became ill doctors told him he had terminal stomach cancer. His doctor sent him to a specialist. This doctor said it was in the third stage to far gone for surgery or chemotherapy. They gave him three months to live. I was devastated. I could not believe this was happening. Once again I began to pray harder than I ever have before for my brother’s healing. Two months into this they sent him to a third doctor. This doctor looked at the previous tests and xrays and compared them to the ones he had just taken, he could not find a trace of cancer. God healed my brother of cancer. I believed God for the impossible and it became possible. It has been almost two years now and my brother is alive and healthy.
I know that some situations cannot be solved through human strength; therefore, I am convinced that nothing is impossible if I believe.
