This I Believe
I believe if you work for what you want you will get it eventually. Working is something you do your whole life. In working for something you have to try, which is what my family had to do.
Every year my family goes to Schlitterbahn Water Park in New Braunfels, Texas. If you or a family member has ever been there you know how big and crowded it can be. If not, lets just say you might want to tie your family together so you don’t get separated. They have many tube rides that you can get separated on easily which, if you can’t tell already happened to my family. One of my favorite rides the Raging River, a forty minute ride where you pretty much float the entire time. Well the first time we ever went we go on the ride not knowing it was that long. We started out on the ride with my parents, me, my six year old sister, and eleven year old brother. When you’re on this ride with a million other people and you don’t know it splits in the middle you’re bound to loose someone. I know your probably thinking oh my gosh her parents lost her six year old little sister. No, it was my clueless eleven year old brother who doesn’t pay attention to anything. When only my parents, sister, and I got off the ride my mom starts to loose it. Of course she starts lecturing me about how I need to look after him, and that we were supposed to stick together, blah, blah, blah. It wasn’t my fault. That’s when we start the search for him.
My mom and sister went together, while my dad and I went off. We decided to split up and meet back at the kid area in an hour. We had no idea where the other part of the ride came out at. We just pretty much walked around looking at the park filled with other people, yeah we sound pretty dumb. An hour went by and we found my mom and sister at the kid area. We were all disappointed we didn’t find him. Just when I thought my mom was going to go insane I looked over and saw my brother sitting in a chair by the pool. When we ran over to him he said “hey” like he saw us just five minutes ago. He started telling us about this waterfall he went down, and he just stood there waiting for us to come down. I thought he was crazy. I’m sure you know what happened after that, yes my mom held his hand pretty much the rest of the day.
After working for about an hour we found what we were looking for. Sometimes you may have to work for years, months, hours, maybe even minutes. I believe though that if you work for it you will get it eventually. No matter what you’re striving for, as long as you try.
