I believe in life after death; a life of purity and unadulterated love for all mankind. The afterlife will be a place without fear or pain, a place where love is embodied and manifested by all. This place is called heaven. God will watch over us and thank us for our good work and behavior on Earth. He will ask us about the journey we took through our current lives as human beings and tell us that any pain we had experienced on Earth was simply a test of our strength. We will be reunited with all of our family and friends in heaven and bask in the idea of eternity.
When I was six years old, my Papa died of a stroke. It was the last of several strokes he had endured over his lifetime. Papa was a good man. He was hardworking, diligent, strong, and always made sure his children and grandchildren were taken care of. When he passed away, I was so young that all I could think about was losing my Papa. I did not think about the fact that he was in heaven and was experiencing none of the pain he endured when he was sick on Earth. Now that I am older and have experienced more of life, I have come to understand that Papa is not gone. He lives with me in my heart and in my memories, until the day I meet with him again in heaven.
The life we are currently living is material and external. We do not meet our full potential and experience true living until we make it to heaven. Our behavior on Earth ultimately is what God looks at during our Final Judgment. When our spirits ascend into heaven, we are free. We experience the ultimate freedom from all things external. We will be surrounded by those we have loved and lost and God in all His glory. I believe in life after death and the existence of heaven. I believe that I will reunite with my Papa and that he will tell me that he watched down on me from Heaven, and was there by my side through the good times and the bad. This I believe.
