I believe that every person should be treated with dignity and respect, even if only for the unique perspective created by their ideas and their experience.
I believe that no American should go hungry. Why are our communities so reluctant to eliminate this scab on our humanity?
I believe that all Americans should have a safe place to sleep. No one should be forced to sleep on the street.
I believe that “of faith, hope, and charity, charity is the most important.” Charity in action is sharing the best of our good fortune with others. Faith and hope are nothing unless they carry through in our actions.
I believe in being kind. Kindness, more than any other human behavior, changes lives and changes our world for the better.
