Guardian Angels
I believe that when a loved one dies they become a guardian angel for a new life.. A life that will be loved as much as the one lost and that will eventually pass on and be the guardian angel for yet another new life.
Twelve days before I was born my Grandpa Al a.k.a. “Big Al” died. I was born late and when I finally was born I had problems with my lungs and wasn’t breathing right. The first person my parents thought to call was my Grandpa Al. Finally they remembered that he wasn’t here anymore. Everyone prayed for me to get better and the priest asked my grandpa to watch over me. That night, the doctors called and said they had had a breakthrough and that I was going to pull through and I was going to do it fast. Until then, I was on a breathing machine and nobody could touch me for if they did I would stop breathing. I am sure that “Big Al” was watching over me and keeping me safe.
I have heard this story many times and I often times hear others talking about guardian angels or that right after a loved one had died that a new baby was born in the family. I thought that this would be a good way to keep my Grandpa Al in my life, so ever since then I have thought of him as “my” guardian angel.
Earlier this year we lost my Dad’s mother, my Grandma. Just two months before her death my cousin and god mother, Lynn found out that she was pregnant with her third child. She had been having major complications and the doctors thought that she was going to lose the baby. Two days after my Grandma’s death Lynn’s doctors called her and said that something had happened and all the problems had stopped. They told her that the baby was going to be fine. Once again someone who was big in my family’s life had passed and a new life was saved. My Grandpa Al had been very excited to meet me but sadly passed before that time, and my Grandma Tutu was very excited to meet my second cousin but had also passed.
