This I believe
The activities of educating or instructing; activities that impart knowledge or skill. This here is what some people may know as the definition of education. You may be saying I have an education so what’s it to you. There are people in the world that can get an education. You may be one of them or you may someone that’s not as lucky to get an education wither it be a high school diploma or any college. Some people say it’s not my problem that that person didn’t get any education because all I care about is me being successful. Don’t get me wrong everyone wants that.
But people as a matter of fact there are people out there that drop out and don’t get an education. Now you say why I passed high school like it was nothing. That was you; you might have had a stable house good loving parents. Your parents might have had some money. Drugs and alcohol might not have been a problem for you. Your parents made the decision to put you through a school that was not associated with gangs, violence, drugs.
But for some people they didn’t have it just as easy as you did. I mean there are sometimes I thought my parents were the worst people on the face of the earth. Some people have entire generations of family members that didn’t finish high school. So for those students completing high school was an option. People might have been going to a school that had gangs, violence, or drugs. I have a friend that’s a senior in high school. He joined the military and just the other day he said he wanted to drop out and get his G.E.D. so he could ship out. I asked him why you want to drop out. His response was school isn’t for him not one person in his family had ever graduated from high school. I really didn’t know how to respond to this is stunned me it’s like he doesn’t care if he lives to be over 25.
This is where people need to take action to try and help students that struggle with school. Schools don’t help kids that have trouble in these areas because they don’t know or some just don’t care. I know there is the no child left behind act. But it seems to me that it really doesn’t work. To me there seem to be a lot of people that just don’t get a fair shot to have a career and support a family to live the American Dream. I believe that if more people are able to get an education it will lower crime rates, reduce gangs, lower the usages of illegal drugs, and boost the economy around the world. All it takes is one person to act out and help a person who struggles with school and guide them along so it will open doors for their future and maybe they will do the same for another.
