Many people sit around sulking, thinking about how horrible
their lives are because they don’t have a new house or a new fast
car. I believe that people should value things like, their
relationships in there lives instead. One thing that people often
over look is that there is a least one person somewhere in this
world, he could be sitting right next to you or he could be millions
of miles away, whose life is worse than yours.
I believe that you could have everything in the world, a bran
new computer, or even a big screen but if you don’t have a
companion to share it with then everything that you have is
worthless. This is why I believe in companionship. When I think
about companionship, I think of family, friends, soul mates,
boyfriends, girlfriends, husbands, wives, their pets. I think of
people who care about other people’s feelings and ideas.
Companionship is about being loyal, being someone that others can
count on. In this way pets are good companions, because they are
always there for you. A pet is something that you can talk to and
that doesn’t talk back, doesn’t judge, it just lays there and listens.
Three years ago, when my grandfather was really, really sick , sick
to the point where he couldn’t even get out of bed, my
grandmother had to quit her job to stay home and take care of him.
She always made sure that he was cool or warm enough. She
would watch things on TV that she really had no interest in just to
keep him comfortable. At night she would sleep in the chair beside
him just so that he wouldn’t have to be alone. My grandfather
never got better. He died within a few months but he died
comfortable. My grandmother he faithful companion, never left his
side until she new for sure that my grandfather had passed.
I believe that material things like cars, computers, TVs, or even the
house you live in, aren’t worth anything if you don’t have someone
to share them with. I don’t go around sulking about what isn’t
meant to be, but I appreciate the people that I share my life with
because they are what matter to me in life. I am thankful that they
are in my life and that they are there to support me and the goals
that I have set for myself.
