Refueling of the Mind and Body
Some beliefs are self-made, others are borrowed, but mine are hereditary. My belief was passed on from my great-grandfather, to my grandfather and his brothers, to my father and to myself. We all love taking naps.
I believe in taking naps anywhere, any time do not require a bed, pillow or blankets, but just a place were you can unwind. Naps can be in the car, on a couch, in a lawn chair or in the middle of a boring class. A nap is a nap, is a nap. Whenever, wherever, a nap is always good. A nap can be inside, outside, sunny, cloudy, day, night. It doesn’t matter as long as there is a place to relax.
Naps refuel the mind and body in the middle of the day, when you’re too tired to do anything or just have nothing better to do. Naps are something most everyone does and enjoys. Whether it’s a hot summer or a cold winter day, naps are always enjoyable.
I believe naps bring people closer, by doing something that they both enjoy. I remember taking naps under a shady tree, in front of my camp, next to the water with my grandfather next to me in the lawn chair. On a bright and sunny afternoon when we could be doing anything we wanted, but we’re taking a nap instead.
I believe naps are the best when they’re with a good friend, even when she’s taking up most of the couch. With that special someone right there to cuddle with and keep you warm. When there are better and possibly more exciting things to do. You’re taking a nap instead. Naps are always better when there’s someone there taking one with you, so you don’t feel alone.
Naps get me ready for the big game. After a good rest, I feel like I could run a marathon. I can explode out onto that field with everything I’ve got and help lead the team to victory. The nap is like having a twelfth man on the field. Energy drinks and energy bars are good, but don’t always do the trick; a good nap always gives me what I need.
I believe taking naps must be in our genes, like me. Not just humans take naps; all living creatures do, from the extinct dinosaurs, to fish and even deer. Whenever I go to the zoo you always see animals lying around napping. Naps are enjoyed by everyone and everything sense the beginning of time. In fact I’m going to take a nap right now.
