I am sick and tired of the Nanny State!
I believe we the individuals would be much wealthier, happier, more peaceful (read non-violent) if we were allowed to keep our own money and run our own lives, instead of the big-government Bureaucracy that forces us to relinquish control of our life, liberty and property to the arbitrary whims of lawmakers, tyrannical majorities and bureaucrats! Where did this idea come from that individuals “are the government” and thus the property of elected officials, merely because we get to “vote” for so called “representatives?”
As free human beings, we own ourselves and should be able to “do our own thing with our own stuff ” as long as we do so peacefully and honestly. The State’s only legitimate function is to secure the individual’s natural rights to life, liberty and property; AKA protect us from jerks who use force and fraud, and then get out of our way so we can live our lives to the max!
Personally, I believe in life before death.
So many people I talk to think laws and rules make a peaceful “orderly” society. The truth is quite the opposite.
Voluntary and informed exchanges, which benefit both parties, make a peaceful, productive and orderly society! Laws and rules should not be confused with right and wrong, or good and bad.
Laws and rules, 99.9% of which are politically motivated and purely arbitrary, do nothing more than expand the power and control of the master (government) over his slaves (you and me), which means more ways to confiscate our property and more reasons to punish us physically, whether it be locking us up, beating or killing us.
Each and every day it gets worse. More and more people appear to subscribe to the philosophy “there ought to be a law” for every aspect of human life.
Are the masses of men and women in America really so ignorant that they do not understand that the freedom to choose and be responsible for oneself, and the fact that all actions have consequences, is reality and what makes life worth living?
Also, I never could understand how any human being would want to tell another person how they should live their life. How the hell do I know how you should live you life? I have enough trouble trying to figure out how to live my own life! If everyone would work on themselves, take care of their own, and help their friends and neighbors in their communities, we would all be better people. And, we could take care of the less fortunate among us.
Selfishness truly is forcing your beliefs and values down other peoples throat, to paraphrase Oscar Wilde.
This Christmas, Holiday Season, Pagan Winter Solstice, Year-end “Whatever,” give the gift that keeps on giving. Give the only gift that matters in life. Give the freedom to choose to yourself and your fellow man.
Freedom Works!
