Eminem once said, “They say music can alter moves and talk to you, but can it load a gun for you and cock it too?” Music has a major impact on everybody’s life in different ways, especially when it comes to emotions. Music is one of the greatest things man has ever made.
Everybody has different tastes in music, but the music they listen to affects how they feel emotionally. If you are happy, you might listen to happier more up beat music, but if you are down then you might listen to heavier music like screamer or rap. Not everybody does that same thing; it all just shows the impact music has on your emotions and vice versa.
Music can conform your emotions in good and bad ways. If someone is down and distraught, they might listen to music for the betterment of themselves by listening to songs they like to help relieve stress or tension and to feel better about themselves, but it is not always this way with every individual person. It can churn the emotions inside of someone more and more and all they can do is wallow in self pity or deep depression and humility, or they might want to go take it out on someone by yelling or being grouchy or occasionally they might hurt someone physically.
Playing an instrument or writing music can do the same thing. If I am in a bad mood I usually play my guitar, or if I have any kind of emotion at all. What I play usually show what mood I am in, if it is heavier then I am in a bad mood or just down, if I am happy I usually get crazy and play more up beat stuff. If you hear a really disturbing song on the radio or screamer music or any kind of music that makes you feel depressed or down then you can tell what kind of mood they are in.
This can happen to anybody and everybody. Some people will stand in court and plead innocent because it was not they who killed the man, but the music which drove them to do it. Emotions are what drive the man, it is the engine you could say and you control how fast or slow you want to go, but music is the steering wheel, it can control where your emotions will go if you let it.
Music can affect different people in different ways, but it is emotions that do all the work. It was emotion that drove us to make music; it is emotion that makes the music. In the words of Aerosmith, “Sweet Emotion.” I believe in music and emotions.
