THIS, I BELIEVE
I believe that through all of time
Poetry helps make life sublime
But I also believe that a poem makes one grieve
If it lacks the magic of rhyme.
The stuff call free verse is an art
In which poetry plays not a part
As the True Poet knows, without rhyme, it’s prose
Unlike poetry which touches the heart.
I believe that rhyme is the key
To the joy found in great poetry
So let’s not admire the free versifier
And give credit to rhymers like me!
