This I Believe
Share This Essay:
While driving home from work one morning as the sun was rising. I found myself thinking of how beautiful the world is. Then I began to hear the negative voice inside me saying things like) sure the world herself is beautiful, but not the situations she is in right now.)
It makes me sad to think of what is going on in this world, but I am consoled by one simple thought, a lyric to a song a once heard. I can’t recall the artist’s name just now, but he took the phrase (and it came to pass) from the bible, and changed it to (This too shall pass.) I find great strength in knowing that this too shall pass.
Although we are glad for the bad things to pass, the good must pass also. All things come merely to pass away. Witch is a slightly depressing thought in itself, but it is true.
So no matter how depressing the world becomes. No matter how grim the situation becomes. Just say to yourself, (This too shall pass,) and the world will not seem such a bad place after all. That’s what I believe.
