This I Believe
This I believe
I believe in the power within us to decide our own future and have a positive impact on those who we meet. I believe nothing occurs by chance; we are the sole architects of our future. I believe our attitude in life will be the deciding factor on whether we overcome adversity and survive or whether we succumb to crisis, and perish. The desire to live can defy the odds, and this desire can make miracles happen. I strongly believe that if you want something bad enough, you will get it, and that no matter what gets in your way, no obstacle will be able to stop you. I believe that there is a reason for everything, and that all the people we meet in our journey through life have something to teach us.
I just met an incredible person who changed my life, he taught me that we should be thankful for everything we have, that we should never think about what we don’t have but appreciate what we have. This person has a very aggressive brain tumor that kills its victims within months. He has lived with it for 5 years, and has never lost hope in his capacity to beat it. Words cannot express how much I admire his strength and determination. I believe he is alive because he loves life too much to let it go. Meeting him was one of the best things that has ever happened to me; and even though we are physically separated, I feel close to him.
I believe in him and in his ability to recover. I believe he still has battles to fight.
One more word: You have been my inspiration, and I am a better and more complete person because of you. Thank you Jonathan
