- That All Persons are created Equal; endowed with Talents, Abilities, Interests, Gifts, Purposes and Dreams, that are Unique to each person. God, our Creator, made us in such a way that not even our two eyes are the same but they work together to facilitate the best vision possible; even with assistance when needed.
- That my parents, family, church, teachers, and caring elders in my neighborhood contributed to shaping my life, my beliefs, my values and the foundation of my success.
- That there are more things that unite us than divide us. Wherein, we should focus on the unifying factors concurrently as we seek to solve the divisive issues.
- That the desire for freedom, happiness, education, financial security, realizing one’s dreams and a “good life” are common to each person.
- That the highest educational standards and achievements are priorities in order that we compete globally.
- That we are a wealthy nation with enough for all and that tax reforms to address the wealthiest of our nation are long overdue.
- That the middle class is disappearing in America. This demands our immediate reversal.
- That those who are blessed to have “a voice” must speak up for those who are “voiceless”; the poor, the homeless and those victims of our system who have been less able to navigate the course.
- That the appreciation for Life and its stages are spoken in the presence of a newborn baby and all that happens through life as a teen, an adult, a senior citizen and to the memories that are written on the hearts of those we love and with whom we share our lives.
- That Heroes and Sheroes; assisting persons each day, will rise to the top in spite of obstacles.
- That each day of my life I must live with a spirit to reach out, help someone in need and to share my blessings.
- That Good triumphs over Evil in spite of financial backing, power plays, greed, majority control and the best designed plans of man. The struggles for justice, peace, fair play all attest to this as Hope remains Alive in our midst.
- That Divine Intervention is at work in the world; bringing to the stage of life at providential times, the most improbable, the most unpredictable; but the most pre-eminent. Leaders of world impact and change arrive on the scene at pivotal times and through their sacrificial lives history is written for the better.
Our Creator gives to us through Wonders of Nature an indescribable setting wherein we can find peace, joy, comfort and the inspiration to set goals. Each day we awaken to a beautiful sunrise, flowing streams, rivers, oceans, valleys, plains, mountains and the marvels of the universe.
With the advancement of technology and enhanced communications we are thrust 24/7 into a more global perspective than oftentimes we are either aware of, or we are willing to acknowledge.
I believe that the inclusion of humanities and its benefits to the quality of life are very essential along with the natural processes, the scientific and technical developments. Valuing time to enjoy one’s talents, creative interests and the cultural exhibitions available contribute to keeping us humane.
We are ever challenged to “do the right thing”. Oftentimes, that choice is simple and is for the common good. We must have the will to champion “the right thing to do” and to ascribe to that as our legacy.
